A Tribute to Patrick and Sherri Casey

Beer fans across the country who have ever sampled such outstanding beers as Fraoch Heather Ale, Kelpie Seaweed Ale, Orkney Skull Splitter, Moorhouse's Black Cat, or Daleside Old Legover can all raise a glass to Pat and Sherri Casey, founders of Legends Ltd., who retired at the end of April. As importers and distributors of some of the world's finest beers since 1994, Pat and Sherri have left an indelible mark on the lives of countless beer fans, hundreds of Maryland/Washington, D.C. beer retailers, a number of world class brewers, and a very special team of dedicated employees at Legends Ltd.

Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet Sherri and Pat will attest to their warm sense of humor, their charming wit, their humility, and their deep rooted passion for some of Scotland's most distinctive ales. Champions for Scottish beer in America, the Caseys have been largely responsible for the proliferation of appreciation for Scottish beer culture across America. Further, the Caseys have played a central role in the expansion of craft and specialty imported beer in Maryland and Washington, D.C., as the distributor for Oskar Blues, B. United International, Vanberg & DeWulf, St. Killian Importing, Bitburger, Lagunitas, Arcadia Ales, Fisherman's Brew, Mendocino, Weyerbacher, Great Divide, Boulder Beer, The Bruery, and many other outstanding brewers and importers.

As Pat and Sherri enter the exciting journey of retirement, we congratulate them for their accomplishments, thank them for improving the beer lives of many, and wish them the very best of luck. Perhaps the Scottish say it best: a resounding Sláinte Mhath to our good friends, Pat and Sherri Casey!
