Smuttynose & The Bruery Recognized at The Good Food Awards

On January 15th, a unique new event took place in San Francisco celebrating specialty foods and beer from artisan producers across the country. The Good Food Awards were created to give recognition to products that are not only delicious, but are also made in an environmentally friendly and socially responsible fashion. Among the judges were some of the industry's most respected individuals including food & beer writers, winning cookbook authors, renown restaurant critics, chefs, farmers and brewmasters.

Awards were given in seven categories: Beer, Charcuterie, Cheese, Pickles, Preserves, Chocolate & Coffee!
Who wouldn't want to be a judge at this awesome event?!

The criteria for the Good Beer category was as follows:
"Good Beer is crafted by brewers who practice water recycling and resource conservation, support their local communities and seek out ingredients that are free of pesticides, herbicides and genetically modified organisms. The Good Food Awards seal will be given out in the categories of Traditional, Experimental and Collaborative brews – those made by more than one brewer working together – a growing practice that highlights the community spirit flourishing amongst craft brewers."

There were 9 winners in the beer category including Smuttynose Robust Porter and The Bruery Trade Winds Tripel!
Congrats to both breweries for being recognized at this prestigious event!
