Ortega On Beer – I’ll Have A Happy (Hour) Meal. Hold The Onions.
This just in, Burger King has announced that it’s going to test selling beer at its location in South Beach, Miami. This comes on the heels of Starbucks opening up its menu to beer & wine at various Pacific Northwest locations that will be called (deep breath) "15th Ave. Coffee and Tea inspired by Starbucks". Both companies explain that they are doing this to stay competitive in the struggling economy. While Starbucks will offer local & regional selections, Burger King will be going w/macro lagers from Anheuser-Busch & MillerCoors.
Now selling beer in fast food restaurants is nothing new to some people in Europe & South America, but it’s definitely something previously unheard of here. Personally, I don’t know how to feel about this. Part of me is all for companies doing whatever it takes to keep their customers 100% satisfied. However, there’s this potential for underage drinking (& worse driving) that can really make this backfire in a terrible way. What do you think?

Speaking of keeping your customers 100% satisfied...
This sounds like something out of a bad teenage coming of age comedy, but some Swedish university students staged a protest to get a local brewery (which said university's student union owns 1 share of no less) to get them to complete a direct link pipeline from the brewery to the university's student union.
Sometimes you can't make this stuff up.
