Where did your history with Cream Ale begin?

For many of us, it was with our Dad. Let’s be honest. A few of us first experienced Cream Ale sitting on our Dad’s lap. And let’s be honest again, for some, it was without our Dad. A whole bunch of us first experienced Cream Ale when Dad left the fridge in the garage unguarded.

Whether it was with Dad or without, time has shown that he was a pretty smart man. His choice of beer was a case in point.

1960: Genesee Cream Ale is born. Proud parental Brewmaster Clarence Geminn victoriously proclaims, "I think we got a winner here."

1964: Packaged as "The Male Ale", "Genny Cream" becomes the unofficial leisure beverage of playboys and social swashbucklers.

1972: A Genesee Cream Ale delivery truck is hijacked on a rural country road in upstate New York. The truck and its driver were found safe. The load of Cream Ale was nowhere to be seen.

1974: Highly collectible stubby bottles help propel Genesee Cream Ale sales to 1.4 million barrels.

1978: Multitudes steal their first Cream Ale from their fathers' garages.

1980: A slanderous competitor starts a subversive rumor that Genesee Cream Ale is brewed by The Moonies cult. Cream Ale is vindicated as the disparaging accusation is clearly proven as false as it was foolish.

1988: Cream Ale wins its first competitive first place medal—a silver at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver (Cream Ale/American Cream Ale Category).

2002: Cream Ale wins its first Gold Medal at the World Beer Cup (American Lager/Cream Ale Category).
