Jeremiah Weed

Brand - Jeremiah Weed
Brewery:
The Jeremiah Weed Distilling Company

The Beginning
In the 70s, two fighter pilots discovered Jeremiah Weed after surviving a plane crash during a routine mission. Ever since then, every USAF fighter squadron has a lounge where the pilots sometimes gather for a cold beer after the flying day is over. Every refrigerator in each of those lounges contains a chilled bottle of a 100-proof product called Jeremiah Weed. For special occasions, and sometimes for no reason at all, someone will bring out the Weed, fill a shot glass for each person present, and propose a toast.

The Man (The Legend)
For nearly 25 years Jeremiah Weed has labored in obscurity. In the early 1980s he received some level of notoriety when his name was given to a new bourbon liqueur, borne of long tradition from the hills of eastern Kentucky and East Tennessee. These parts of the country, still inaccessible to most Americans, have a tradition of whiskey making that long predates the American Revolution. It is from that ancestry that both Jeremiah Weed, the man, and Jeremiah Weed Bourbon Liqueur, trace their roots.

For most of these long years Mr. Weed labored quietly advancing his little known brand before retiring back to the hollows of the extreme eastern Kentucky mountains, asking that his precise location never be disclosed. Having no close family in the United States, only one or two business associates know where he resides.

What is especially pleasing is that Mr. Jeremiah Weed recently has agreed to periodically leave retirement and make selected appearances, as well as render his views on various happenings around the country and the world.
