Some 300 breweries existed in the Valenciennes district at the beginning of the 20th century, and the Brasserie La Choulette is the sole heir.
In 1977 that Alphonse Dhaussy acquires brewery Bourgeois-Lecerf already boasts a long history, formerly Lecoq-Dubois brewery founded in 1885. It therefore becomes brewer like his father and his grandfather, allowing his son Alain perpetuate to turn on the family tradition. In 1986, it took over the reins of the company now called Brasserie La Choulette.
