Tyskie continues the long tradition of beer brewing in Tychy. This tradition dates back to the 17th century with the Browary Ksiazece in Tychy opening in 1629, using spring water from artesian wells located in the Mikolowskie Hills.
Since January 2007, when Miller Brands took over the distribution of Tyskie in the UK, this brand has grown significantly in the market. Tyskie has experienced increased product loyalty from both Polish and British drinkers alike.
Apart from being the most popular Polish beer both within and outside of Poland, Tyskie is also the only European beer to have won two Gold Medals and a Grand Prix award at the prestigious Burton-on-Trent beer festival in 2002.
