I tried the beer finder for a beer I was desparately hoping would be near my home. I had to start with the brewery name (Victory) because when I entered "St. Boisterous" in the "Search Beer" block, the system told me it could not find the beer.
Searching under "Victory" I found the brewery, and a full listing of beers, including seasonals.
Selecting St. Boisterous, I was able to enter it in my favorites, and tried the beer finder to find the beer. I searched a 25 mile radius from my home, and found nothing. I expanded the search as far as 100 miles, and still nothing. I know for a fact that I can buy the beer at "Norm's Beer and Wine" (which is not listed on this site, and I still don't know how I can enter beer sources), which is about 50 miles from my house, and I strongly suspect it may be at Rick's Wine and Gourmet (also not listed), and maybe even Total Wine in Springfield.
Not to snipe, but a tool like this will only get used if it is accurate. So far, I am down to using a listserve or the phone.

Beer finder...was supposed to be the title
Hmmm, I don't seem to have this forum thing down. I put "Beer Finder" as my thread title, and "needs updating" as my comment title. Can't seem to find the thread title.
What did I do wrong?
testing
if it's right, the title should display 'testing'
I changed the title to 'beer
I changed the title to 'beer finder' for you. If I manage to reproduce the error. I will send you one update.
Searching for beers in your neighborhood with the "Beer Finder"
For beer enthusiasts in Virginia, GreatBrewers.com provides beer location information for all of the beers carried by Specialty Beverage of Virginia, including over 800 outstanding craft and specialty beers from about 150 breweries worldwide.
The best way to browse through their selection is to login with a Virginia zip code and browse through the Product Catalog.
Unfortunately, in Virginia, Victory is not among the brewers whose beer finder data is available on GreatBrewers.com, but you can certainly contact their local distributors, Hop & Wine or Legendary Distributors. I do not know if either of these companies has a website, but you can find their phone numbers on Victory's website: http://victorybeer.com/beerfinder.html#va.
Please continue to provide your feedback, as this is very helpful in our ongoing efforts to make this site a great resource for beer lovers.
I hope this is helpful.
Cheers,
Eric
Victory distributor
Legendary is no longer the distributor for Victory in this area. J. F. Fick now carries Victory for the greater Fredericksburg, VA area. Also, I exchanged e-mails with Bill Covaleski, and he told me that there was no original intent to distribute the St. B in VA this year, but they had worked a special deal with Hop and Vine to bring in a few cases.
