Karl Heine's HomeBrew
Karl brewed what he anticipated to be a Cranberry Bock which we recently sampled. Participating were Mr. Jon Costa (a frequent homebrewer himself), the venerable Mr. Roman Dombrowski, Karl and me. I try not to miss any sampling opportunities. Visually the beer had the appearance of a hefeweizen; golden colored, cloudy, and a nice tight head of foam that did not dissapate. On the tongue, you definitely picked up a sweet citrus taste from the orange peel and a slight banana flavor. The finish was nice and clean and did not linger. Overall the beer was very flavorful due to the many ingredients Karl added to the brew and we all picked up something a little different. A very fine effort and an enjoyable blend of ingredients. Was it a bock style? I don't believe so, but we were all willing to overlook that misnomer. We look forward to the next brew. Karl is available for consultations to all neophyte brewers.
