Amber Ale

Alt. The name of this beer style comes from the German word "alt" meaning "old". This refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly and at colder temperatures than most ales. Slow fermentation helps condition the flavors in Alaskan Amber, contributing to its overall balance and smoothness.

Richly malty and long on the palate, with just enough hop backing to make this beautiful amber colored "alt" style beer notably well balanced.

India Pale Ale

India Pale Ales are characterized by intense hop flavor and aroma accompanied by higher alcohol content. This style possesses medium maltiness and body while also being crisp and dry. Citrus flavors and aromas are moderate to very strong.

Alaskan IPA is honey gold in color with a fruity, citrus aroma. An enticing blend of hops and our dry hopping process, in which hops are added directly to tanks during fermentation, give this brew a very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing hop finish.

Best With:
The pronounced hop flavor makes this style of beer refreshing and a delicious accompaniment to grilled prawns, spicy food and as an aperitif.

Belgian-Style Wit Bier
Strength (ABV):

Alaskan White Ale is based on a Belgian-style witbier, literally translated to "white beer." White beers, or "witbieren," are named for the suspended wheat proteins creating a cloudy appearance in this unfiltered beer.

Alaskan White Ale has a soft, slightly sweet base with the unique spice aroma of coriander and crisp, citrus finish of orange peel. A light and effervescent body combined with the smooth palate creates a complex and delicate beer that is deliciously refreshing in any season.

A special top-fermenting ale yeast is used during fermentation and is responsible for many of Liberty Ale's subtle flavors and characteristics. Carbonation is produced by an entirely natural process called "bunging," which produces champagne-like bubbles. Brooklyn East India Pale Ale

Product - Brooklyn East India Pale 20
Brewed By:
Brooklyn
Self-Defined Style:
India Pale Ale
Strength (ABV):
6.8% ABV

East India Pale Ale is a deep golden beer brewed from British malt and a blend of hops featuring the choice East Kent Golding variety. It is traditionally dry-hopped for a bright aroma of hops, lemongrass, pine and citrus fruit, and has a robust bitterness, a warming malt palate and a clean, hoppy finish.

Best With:
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale is particularly suited to spicy foods, especially Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Szechwan, and Mexican dishes. It's also great with crab cakes and oily fish. The beer is robust enough to stand up to strong flavors and its citrus flavors mingle wonderfully with those in food. After dinner, the snappy hoppiness perfectly mirrors good aged cheddars.

The award-winning Brooklyn Lager is amber-gold in color, and displays a firm malt center supported by a fine bitterness and floral hop aroma. Caramel malts show in the finish. The result is a wonderfully flavorful beer, smooth, refreshing and very versatile with food.

Best With:
From the most modest picnics to the country's finest restaurants, Brooklyn Lager is enjoyed with everything from salads to steaks. Brooklyn Lager is at home with pizza, burgers, Mexican food, roasted chicken, barbecue, fried fish, pork, and Chinese dishes. In Denmark, people are enjoying it with pickled herring, in Japan they've been enjoying it with sushi for years, and in England people find it a fine accompaniment to classic fish and chips.

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Product - Brooklyn Sorachi Ace
Brewed By:
Brooklyn
Self-Defined Style:
Saison
Strength (ABV):
7.5% ABV

Every two months Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and company turn out a new and inventive beer. We call these draft-only releases our Brewmaster’s Reserve. The latest batch goes by the name of Sorachi Ace. Here’s what Garrett has to say about it: Most Brooklyn beers are made with a blend of hop varietals. As a chef does with spices, we look to get the best qualities of each hop and create a harmony of flavors and aromas. However, a few years ago, we ran into a hop unique enough to deserve its own moment in the sun.

Best With:
Generally speaking, Belgian ale is a gastronomic miracle. The delicate spicy and fruity nature of these ales, accentuated by the distinctive Belgian yeast strains, pairs beautifully with lamb, mussels, and semi-soft cheeses such as gouda, havarti, and tilsit.

Amber Ale
Strength (ABV):
5.5% ABV

Anyone remember the grocery store cooler back before it turned into a kaleidoscopic fantasy world of beer options? You pretty much had two choices: Regular or Light. In 1989, when we brewed our first batch of Full Sail Amber, not only was it the first Amber ale here in Beer Mecca (aka Oregon) -- it was the first craft beer to go into a bottle. And two things became immediately apparent. It wasn't Regular and it sure as heck wasn't Light. Our Amber is a sweet, malty, medium-bodied ale with a spicy, floral hop finish. It's brewed with 2-row Pale, Crystal and Chocolate malts.

The British colonists who once visited India invented India Pale Ale. But we seriously doubt they ever enjoyed one after a day of fullblown kiteboarding. What a shame. Generously hopped to 60 IBU's in the classic style, our IPA is a real thirst quencher. It has a full, malty body and there's even a hint of fresh citrus to it. Perfect after your favorite water sport. Even if that happens to be the grueling drag-the-poolside-lounge-chair-into-the-sun event. The British colonists who once visited India invented India Pale Ale.

Premium Dark Lager

Short, Dark, and Drinkable

Our newest member of the family, Session Black, carries the mantra of drinkability into new territory.

Most beers this dark are so heavy-duty, you could eat them with a fork. Session Black, on the other hand, lets you have your dark beer and drink it, too. With just a hint of roasty chocolate character, Session Black is short, dark, and totally drinkable.
At long last, a dark beer that doesn’t drink like a meal.

How big a bummer was Prohibition? As if taking everyone's brew away wasn't bad enough, hundreds of little independent breweries that once made super tasty beers basically got worked. And when they went out of business, America not only lost the breweries, it lost what American beer used to taste like. Session is our way of bringing back the pre-Prohibition American Lager. It's an all-malt Continental Pilsner brewed with American and European hops, so it's flavorful, refreshing, and has a touch of that import-style taste.

Harpoon Cider

Product - Harpoon Cider
Brewed By:
Harpoon
Self-Defined Style:
Hard Cider
Strength (ABV):
4.1% ABV

In 1986 Harpoon co-founders Rich Doyle and Dan Kenary began brewing Harpoon in Boston to share with others the joy of making—and drinking—great beer. In 2000, we added a second brewery in Windsor, Vermont to keep up with the demand. As a regional craft brewer, we gained interest and respect for cider, a drink with strong roots and history in New England. Harpoon’s cider is our contribution to the long heritage of cider made with fresh juice from locally grown apples.

Best With:
Try this cider as an accompaniment with cheese, pork dishes, or simply enjoy it on its own. Cooking with Cider: enjoy cider-marinated pork, or use cider to steam mussels. Serve Cider: as an apertif, at brunch, and for special occasions. Bring Cider: along for picnics and parties. Mix Cider: with Harpoon beer. Cider and beer have a heritage in New England that dates back to the Pilgrims. The two drinks can be enjoyed together or you can enjoy cider on its own. Here are some of our recommendations. Try mixing Harpoon Cider with the following Harpoon Beers: Harpoon Cider + Harpoon Brown = Copperhead; Harpoon Cider + UFO Hefeweizen = Apfelweizen; Harpoon Cider + UFO Raspberry Hefeweizen = Indian Summer; Harpoon Cider + Harpoon Winter Warmer = Apple Pie!

English-Style IPA

Why does the world need another IPA? Because this one ain't like them others. Using hops of a different color, earthy and herbal, it's well balanced by bready malt. The result? An English-style IPA that separates itself from the ubiquitous bunch. Cartloads of bitter monkeys flinging wasteful amounts of bananas into the jungle - we're so done with that.

Initial malt sweetness followed by earthy, straw and herbal hop notes. Finishes dry with a pleasant lingering bitterness and distinctly British hop character.

We make it with six different malts and three types of hops, then dry-hop it with a mutha lode of Amarillo hops. It features a gooey, resiny aroma and a luscious mouth feel. G'Knight is brewed with dash of chocolate malt in it, to round out its load of hops and balance the beer. The result is an assertive yet exceptionally smooth version of strong beer.

Best With:
A general rule of thumb with this beer is 'the spicier the better.' The impressive hop bitterness in this beer can stand up to just about any degree of spiciness in dry rubbed ribs, Cajun cuisine, curry based Indian food, or wasabi spiced Japanese fare.

Pilsner

Our new canned good is a delicious, small-batch version of the beer that made Pilsen, Czechoslovakia famous. Mama’s is made with hearty amounts of pale malt, German specialty malts, and traditional (Saaz) and 21st century Bavarian hops. It’s the perfect antidote for the watered-down, cornfed versions of pilsner clogging America’s shelves. Our first canned lager, it’s also fermented at cool temperatures with a German yeast. While it’s rich with Czeched-out flavor, Mama’s gentle hopping (about 35 IBUs) and low ABV (just 5.3%) makes it a luxurious but low-dose beer.

This is an aggressive ale. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory–maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beverage will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make things taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

This IPA's generous hop character makes it an ideal pairing with spicy foods such as barbecue, dry-rubbed ribs, or ethnic cuisine such as curry based Indian food, wasabi based Japanese dishes, or spicy Thai entrees.

When reading the name "stone Cali-Belgique IPA", "Cali-" hints that it's a California-style IPA, and this beer has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word "Belgique" (which is how Belgium's French-speaking population says the word "Belgian"; the Dutch-speaking Belgians say België"). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA. The result is both completely new and different., while still being recognized as a Stone Brew - and Stone IPA in particular.

First brewed in 2007 as the Stone 11th Anniversary Ale, this ale was an instant hit. With us. Other folks with great taste loved it too, but we were focused on how much we liked it, and we felt it was truly sublime. That euphoria didn't last long though, as it was soon replaced with the grim reality that when we sold out of it there wouldn't be any more. For us. And that was simply unacceptable. So, we are now blessing ourselves, and you the enlightened, with this ale. Thusly, you may now revel in your own self-righteousness as you see fit with this glorious example of ours.
