Farnum Hill Summer Cider

Product - Farnum Hill Summer Cider
Brewed By:
Farnum Hill Ciders
Self-Defined Style:
Summer Cider
Strength (ABV):
7.5% ABV

Sparkling, clear, golden. Blended for potent fruit and acid, subdued tannins, somehow it offers a surprising and delightful suggestion of whisky sours with nothing like the alcoholic penalty.

Alcohol content 7.5% by volume. 750 ml. bottle,

mushroom cork closure (no corkscrew needed).

Best With:
Summer Cider will gladden relaxed summer occasions. It agreeably floats the odd ice cube, berry or citrus slice, maybe even a sprig of mint or other herb, if you like that kind of thing. Grilled, saute'ed, salad- or pasta-based summer dishes gain extra savor from its company. Delicately-flavored seafoods flourish alongside its clean, optimistic finish. (Think twice, though, about acidic red sauces -- reactions have been mixed). At the dessert stage, people who make fruit ices and fruit salads might like to throw in some cider ... and pour some alongside. With tarts, cakes, shortbread, trifle, and of course crepes, FHSC could be fun. On the heavy, rich side of the dessert range, the Rocky Road ice cream or chocolate mousse, you're on your own: Summer Cider might be a charming lift, might be a painful contrast, according to palate. See what you like (or don't like), write if you have time. Summer time is playtime!

Neolithic humans evolved from nomadic hunters into a more settled agricultural society, changing life forever. The ‘founder’ crops they raised included wheat & barley. It is little surprise that the first examples of brewing appeared during this age.

Brewers owe much to that epoch. Similarly, we thank our farmer friends of today for cultivating the ingredients that are responsible for the beers we now enjoy. Their laborious days spent outdoors under the hot sun earn them respect, as well as a mark of distinction: the farmer’s tan. Yes, the inevitable red & white hallmark of hard work.

We are not the harbingers of truth as some may suggest but it may indeed be argued that our brewing philosophy is tantamount to a dessert with a bellicose past. How, you may ask, would a brewery determine a likeness to hard-coated custard? Our response is simple; it’s all in the power of history, and of course, the extra finesse needed to top off a contentious treat with definition.

Brewed in the authentic historical style of an Imperial Russian Stout, this beer is massive. Intensely aromatic (notes of anise, black currants, coffee, roastiness and alcohol) and heavy on the palate, this brew goes where few can - and fewer dare even try. The style originated from Czarist Russia's demand for ever thicker English stouts. Expect our version of this mysterious brew to pour like Siberian crude and taste even heavier!

Best With:
Hot molten chocolate mud cake is the ideal pairing for this beer, however it works beautifully on its own as a digestif.

Golden Ale
Strength (ABV):

Brewed locally at the Victory Brewery in Chester County, the Summer Love Ale is a golden ale made with pale malts, German hops and Brandywine River water. This specific style of beer was chosen because it has a broad appeal and will be accessible for casual beer drinkers, but will still retain exciting hop notes.

The brew has a vibrant and refreshing pale color derived from its lean and refreshing malt body. And the initially floral aroma of hops segues into a well integrated, refreshing hop dryness of European heritage.

Self-Defined Style:
Double IPA
Strength (ABV):
9.5% ABV

About This Beer
Our most popular seasonal ale, YuleSmith is brewed twice a year in two different, yet similar, styles: For summertime, it’s an Imperial/Double IPA.

Qualities
During the summer, YuleSmith is transformed into a big, hoppy, Double IPA. The enormous load of hops requires a substantial malt background to create just the right balance for a Double IPA. Lighter in color, summer YuleSmith is available around the 4th of July and is packaged in a red, white, and blue bottle.

De Koninck Triple d'Anvers

Brewed By:
De Koninck
Self-Defined Style:
Triple
Strength (ABV):
8.0% ABV

The Triple d’Anvers beer is the successor of the De Koninck Tripel. They both contain 8% alcohol volume, yet the Triple d’Anvers is a top-fermenting beer, unlike the previous triple.

This beer is lightly amber-colored and as mentioned, top-fermented. Whilst brewing, blonde and dark malts are used, without adding any herbs, because the harmonic mixture between malts and hops suffices to guarantee it’s desired flavour. When drinking it, you will first taste a sweet touch, followed by a combination of hop bitter, fruitiness, and a refreshing character, caused by the top-fermentation.
