Schnee Days is a 3 day festival of snow held in Elkhart Lake, WI. Schnee is ‘snow’ in German and is a way for Elkhart Lake to celebrate it’s German Heritage. Many people know Elkhart Lake only in the summer, but the resident’s of Elkhart Lake invite tourists, and visitor’s alike to see what winter has to offer.

From 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Saturday the Osthoff will be hosting a complimentary beer tasting with related beers for sale at a discounted price. In this tasting they will be featuring new releases in addition to classic German brews. This tasting event will be held in The Elk Room at the Osthoff Resort.

Delicious lemon-scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. Pale in color, tart in palate - a brut beer. Pale color, tart in palate, "brut" beer with a delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne.

Best With: 
Weiss-wurst (veal sausage), pretzels, Dusseldorf mustard, mettwurst, vegetable pâté, crab Louis, sand dabs, fried smelts, Sunday brunch. Serve in tall vase-shaped weisse glass; a thin slice of lemon as garnish is a personal choice. Glass should accommodate 17-ounces.

For some people, Erdinger Weissbier Pikantus 'dark bock beer' is a delicacy to be enjoyed in the colder months of the year. For lovers of strong beer, however, the season for Pikantus lasts a full twelve months. At 7.3% alcohol, this specialty wheat beer has a considerably higher alcohol content than other varieties produced by Erdinger Weissbräu. The dark bock beer owes its sharp and full flavor to the use of selected dark wheat and barley malts and a significantly longer maturing process.

Best With: 
This dark, hearty wheat beer is excellent with duck, venison, roasted pork and wild boar.

Excellent balance of sweet malt and smoke. Smoke replaces hops as the dominant malt balance. Keeps the sausage taste as you go. Fruit in the middle. Much more quaffable than expected.

Best With: 
This rauchbier is the perfect compliment to the Bamberg Onion, a delicacy created by the brewery owners' family generations ago and still served at the Schlenkerla Tavern in Bamberg. The Bamberg Onion is stuffed with a ground meat filling and slowly roasted.
