Duvel is unique. No other beer is made like it, or tastes like it. Blonde and refreshing like a Pilsner, but with the flavor, depth and complexity of an ale, Duvel defines the Strong Golden Ale category. It's this beguiling nature that has made Duvel a Belgian favorite.

Erdinger Weissbier 'dark' is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn't contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier 'with fine yeast'.

There are only two original American beer styles.

We perfected one of them.

In the old days, there were ales and there were lagers. Ales were flavorful. Lagers were smooth. And never the twain did meet.

Until Genesee Cream Ale. And then the twain met head on to form an American Original with the flavor of an ale and the smoothness of a lager.

Cream Ale is unique. Then. Now. Always.

We skillfully warm-ferment Genesee Cream Ale with our own signature top-fermenting yeast.

When first seeing Harpoon Ale in a glass, you will notice its golden caramel color. You will also see that it is not excessively carbonated. High carbonation would mask this beer's subtle flavor. The first aroma will be fruity. This is produced by the yeast and is a signature characteristic of Harpoon's proprietary yeast strain. The second perceptible aroma is from the malt, with a delicate caramel note. Upon tasting Harpoon Ale, you will find that the malty, fruity character is nicely balanced by the mild hop bitterness. It has a smooth, medium body.

It's been said that "Gravity Sucks." Simple enough. Well, we at Stone have identified gravitational forces in the beer world. And we have come to the conclusion that they, well, see above. So we avoid these less-than-desirable gravitational forces. We avoid dumbed-down flavor profiles and the vigorous pursuit of the lowest common denominator. We avoid big dollar marketing mentalities. We avoid additives, cheap adjuncts, stabilizers and chemical preservatives. So in the defiance of gravity we bring you Stone Levitation Ale.

This is an aggressive ale. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory–maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beverage will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make things taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

Strength (ABV):

Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale is our homage to the craft and heritage of America's brewers. Recipes calling for the use of pumpkins in beer date back to early colonial times, when brewers sought to extend their supply of costly imported malt with locally grown ingredients, such as squash and "pompions." In that spirit, we brew our ale with the addition of pumpkin to the mash, along with traditional spices to create a delicious American original.

This beer is ideal with festive cuisine, particularly pumpkin bread, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie.

A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON THE CLASSIC WITBIER STYLE. Samuel Adams Imperial White is a new perspective on the classic witbier style. INTENSE AND WARMING, A MEAL IN A BOTTLE. Brewed since the 13th Century, these malty lagers are still some of the biggest and most sophisticated beers around. Bock is the German word for "billy goat" and pictures of goats graze the labels on many bocks and double bocks. We shied away from the goats on our label, but we certainly didn’t shy away from the use of malted barley in this beer.

Best With:
The intense flavors of Double Bock go well with rich meats like duck, quail or pork tenderloin. You can also match the rich sweet flavors with some hearty desserts like cheesecake or crème brulee. But in all honesty, you could just have a pint on its own for dessert and be completely satisfied.

A MASSIVE BEER – ONCE BREWED FOR ROYALTY. Samuel Adams Imperial Stout is our take on the traditional Russian Imperial Stouts from the 18th century. English brewers supplied these stouts for the Russian Imperial Court of Catherine the Great, who had taken a great liking to the beer. In order for the beer to survive the long trip to St. Petersburg, the flavor and alcohol needed to be amped up to preserve the beer.

Best With:
The strong and intense flavors of the Imperial Stout pair well with foods that have flavors to match or complement the beer. Foods that are mild in flavor will be overpowered by the beer. For a cheese pairing, we recommend pairing the stout with aged strong cheeses like Stilton blue cheese or aged Gouda. Cioppino or rare roast beef will also pair well as they will cut some of the sweetness of the beer. The dark roasted malt in the Imperial Stout brings out chocolate aromas and flavors making it a tasty pairing with coffee or chocolate desserts. But the classic pairing for stouts are a plate of raw oysters. The roasted bitterness of the stout is contrasted by the saltiness and subtle sweetness from the shellfish. Simply amazing.

Samuel Smith
Self-Defined Style:
Stingo
Strength (ABV):
8.0% ABV
Color (SRM):
32º L

Stingo, traditional strong ale originating in the north of England, is mentioned in literature before 1700. Samuel Smith's Stingo melds the fine history of this style with the signature elegance of the brewery. Brewed from British malt and multiple hop varieties, Stingo is fermented in open-topped stone "Yorkshire Squares," with the Samuel Smith ale yeast strain. It is then aged for over a year in oak barrels that previously held cask-conditioned ale, gaining complexity and depth from the wood.

Best With:
Stingo is a wonderful digestif when served alone, and also pairs well with beef, wild game, or demanding deeply-flavored foods. Try with strong aromatic cheese, pickled fish, cured meats, duck, or Kalamata olives. Serve at 55 degrees in a small nonik, or serve in a stemmed wineglass.

The world-classic Kulmbacher Reichelbräu Eisbock is back! Best With:
This intensely malty Eisbock is suitable on its own as a nightcap, or can pair well with a hearty cigar.

Brewed By:
Kulmbacher
Self-Defined Style:
Pilsener
Strength (ABV):
4.9% ABV

Soon thereafter, a panel of beer journalists bypassed local favorites (Beck's and St. Paulie Girl) and voted Kulmbacher #1 in a tasting sponsored by the newspaper "Die Zeit" in Hamburg. Then, at a third blind tasting of leading Pilsners by students at the University of Bamberg (Germany's best-educated and most-sophisticated beer town) - Kulmbacher came out on top again.

Best With:
A great gold pilsner will always work with all seafood dishes, clear broth soups, tapas, and just about anything off the backyard grill. This brew also lends itself nicely jambalaya, falafels, and certain Caribbean dishes. Fried pub fare is also a fine accompaniment to German pilsener.
