Saison
Strength (ABV):
7.5% ABV

Every two months Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and company turn out a new and inventive beer. We call these draft-only releases our Brewmaster’s Reserve. The latest batch goes by the name of Sorachi Ace. Here’s what Garrett has to say about it: Most Brooklyn beers are made with a blend of hop varietals. As a chef does with spices, we look to get the best qualities of each hop and create a harmony of flavors and aromas. However, a few years ago, we ran into a hop unique enough to deserve its own moment in the sun.

Best With:
Generally speaking, Belgian ale is a gastronomic miracle. The delicate spicy and fruity nature of these ales, accentuated by the distinctive Belgian yeast strains, pairs beautifully with lamb, mussels, and semi-soft cheeses such as gouda, havarti, and tilsit.

Anyone remember the grocery store cooler back before it turned into a kaleidoscopic fantasy world of beer options? You pretty much had two choices: Regular or Light. In 1989, when we brewed our first batch of Full Sail Amber, not only was it the first Amber ale here in Beer Mecca (aka Oregon) -- it was the first craft beer to go into a bottle. And two things became immediately apparent. It wasn't Regular and it sure as heck wasn't Light. Our Amber is a sweet, malty, medium-bodied ale with a spicy, floral hop finish. It's brewed with 2-row Pale, Crystal and Chocolate malts.

The British colonists who once visited India invented India Pale Ale. But we seriously doubt they ever enjoyed one after a day of fullblown kiteboarding. What a shame. Generously hopped to 60 IBU's in the classic style, our IPA is a real thirst quencher. It has a full, malty body and there's even a hint of fresh citrus to it. Perfect after your favorite water sport. Even if that happens to be the grueling drag-the-poolside-lounge-chair-into-the-sun event. How big a bummer was Prohibition? As if taking everyone's brew away wasn't bad enough, hundreds of little independent breweries that once made super tasty beers basically got worked. And when they went out of business, America not only lost the breweries, it lost what American beer used to taste like. Session is our way of bringing back the pre-Prohibition American Lager. It's an all-malt Continental Pilsner brewed with American and European hops, so it's flavorful, refreshing, and has a touch of that import-style taste.

Strength (ABV):

In 1986 Harpoon co-founders Rich Doyle and Dan Kenary began brewing Harpoon in Boston to share with others the joy of making—and drinking—great beer. In 2000, we added a second brewery in Windsor, Vermont to keep up with the demand. As a regional craft brewer, we gained interest and respect for cider, a drink with strong roots and history in New England. Harpoon’s cider is our contribution to the long heritage of cider made with fresh juice from locally grown apples.

Best With:
Try this cider as an accompaniment with cheese, pork dishes, or simply enjoy it on its own. Cooking with Cider: enjoy cider-marinated pork, or use cider to steam mussels. Serve Cider: as an apertif, at brunch, and for special occasions. Bring Cider: along for picnics and parties. Mix Cider: with Harpoon beer. Cider and beer have a heritage in New England that dates back to the Pilgrims. The two drinks can be enjoyed together or you can enjoy cider on its own. Here are some of our recommendations. Try mixing Harpoon Cider with the following Harpoon Beers: Harpoon Cider + Harpoon Brown = Copperhead; Harpoon Cider + UFO Hefeweizen = Apfelweizen; Harpoon Cider + UFO Raspberry Hefeweizen = Indian Summer; Harpoon Cider + Harpoon Winter Warmer = Apple Pie!

The high hopping of Harpoon IPA is not only noticeable in the nose but especially in the finish. The lingering bitter finish of this beer is not harsh or astringent, but crisp and pronounced. This is created, in part, by dry hopping - a technique that involves adding fresh hops to the conditioning beer to provide a fresh hop aroma.

When you bring a glass of this dark copper ale to your lips to take your first sip you will notice the aroma of cinnamon. There is no aromatic hop added that might overpower the distinct spice scent. The medium body of this beer is formed from caramel and pale malts. These create enough body to support the spices without making the beer excessively rich. Bittering hops are added to counter the sweetness of the malt and spice. The finish of the beer is a blend of cinnamon and nutmeg. The combination of these two spices results in a balanced, pumpkin-pie flavor.

Best With:
Savory hor d'oerves, duck, apple pie, pumpkin pie.

To complement its hoppy first impression, Dale's also sports a rich middle of malts and hops, and a bracing finish.

Best With:
This intense example of an American Pale Ale would have a wonderful relationship with a hearty meal of steaks, stews and chili's. Strong and sharp cheeses, like the Roquefort or Stilton would pair nicely.

While it’s rich with Czeched-out flavor, Mama’s gentle hopping (about 35 IBUs) and low ABV (just 5.3%) makes it a luxurious but low-dose beer.

A traditional India Pale Ale, the Elissa IPA is very hoppy with a properly balanced malty body. Elissa has huge hop additions in the kettle that give it a wonderful bitterness and is then dry-hopped in the fermenter to create the pleasant floral, hoppy nose. Our reverse osmosis water makes the bitter very soft with no harsh notes to it. The maltiness is derived from British Maris Otter malt. Its rich flavor stands up to the hops that would otherwise dominate this beer. The Elissa is an authentic version of an India Pale Ale (IPA) style.

It’s a celebration.

Imagine celebrating some huge, momentous occasion and then imagine drinking the liquid equivalent of that celebration every day.

Citrus aroma prevails. Mounds of fresh hops and caramel malts explode upon the palate. Originally produced to celebrate our tenth year in business, this imperial IPA hides nothing of our tendency toward self-indulgent behavior.

Best With:
The hops cut through and refresh spicy Indian, Thai and Mexican foods. The Cascade hopslatch onto cumin, lime juice and cilantro.

It’s Old-Man Bitter.

A mixture of citrus and pine that will remind you of the time you went on a vision quest with your Native American cousin and woke up in a pine-grove grove full of grapefruit trees.

An AMerican-style India Pale Ale with a deep golden-orange color. Bitter and hooppy, with a suprisingly smooth finish.

strong, spicey foods such as curries / Thai food. Also works well with smoked or grilled meats, and for dessert, go for the sweet, like cheesecake or creme brulee.

A smooth and sexy brew. Like golden waves of yeast crashing on a golden beach of golden sand with golden taps spewing golden beer that's smooth as gold.

A crisp blonde ale. Golden in color, medium in body - she's brewed with the help and the honey of durango's honeyville bees.

The taste is mildly sweet from the use of local honey, followed by bready malts, a touch of tangy wheat, a pleasantly mild bitterness, and citrus hop flavors in the end.

Best With:
Light enough not to overwhelm tasty greens regardless of dressing. Works well with delicate fish. Pleasant accompaniment to lobster, clams, shrimp and crab - great w/ lobster bisque. Thirst quencher, works well with spicy/hot foods.

Self-Defined Style:
American IPA
Strength (ABV):
7.2% ABV

This is an aggressive ale. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory–maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beverage will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make things taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

Best With:
This IPA's generous hop character makes it an ideal pairing with spicy foods such as barbecue, dry-rubbed ribs, or ethnic cuisine such as curry based Indian food, wasabi based Japanese dishes, or spicy Thai entrees.

When reading the name "stone Cali-Belgique IPA", "Cali-" hints that it's a California-style IPA, and this beer has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word "Belgique" (which is how Belgium's French-speaking population says the word "Belgian"; the Dutch-speaking Belgians say België"). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA. The result is both completely new and different., while still being recognized as a Stone Brew - and Stone IPA in particular.

First brewed in 2007 as the Stone 11th Anniversary Ale, this ale was an instant hit. With us. Other folks with great taste loved it too, but we were focused on how much we liked it, and we felt it was truly sublime. That euphoria didn't last long though, as it was soon replaced with the grim reality that when we sold out of it there wouldn't be any more. For us. And that was simply unacceptable. So, we are now blessing ourselves, and you the enlightened, with this ale. Thusly, you may now revel in your own self-righteousness as you see fit with this glorious example of ours.
