Founded in 1991 by Bobby Roberts, Specialty Beverage of Virginia has grown to become one of the finest and most respected craft beer and wine distributors in the southeast. Representing more than 100 suppliers throughout Virginia, Specialty prides itself in being able to introduce a world class selection of beers and wines to retailers statewide. L. Knife acquired Specialty Beverage in January, 2009.

In September 2009, Specialty Beverage relocated to a new, state-of-the-art facility in Goochland County, just west of Richmond. The 50,000 square foot facility offers an expansive, climate controlled warehouse that utilizes natural lighting and an ultra-efficient refrigeration system to minimize environmental impact. Specialty’s new home also enables it to more efficiently service high growth markets in western and northern Virginia.
