Self-Defined Style:
Blonde Trappist Ale This blond, flavorful beer is a surprisingly refreshing brew at 8% alcohol by volume. It is lightly filtered, but still wholesomely hazy with yeast remaining in the bottle. For the moment, it shares the same label with the Achel Bruin beer, but can be differentiated by the cap - the Blonde has a white cap and the Bruin a gold cap.
Best With:
The strong carbonation of this blond would lift the oils from a rosemary salmon, leaving the flavors to mesh and melt on the palate.

Achel 8 Blonde Tasting Notes
Bottle. Pours golden-orange, slightly hazy with a substantial white head. Aroma is grassy, yeasty, with notes of honey and candied sugar, and touches of light malts, spices and herbal hops. Flavor is sweet, with lots of Belgian yeast defining the distinctly Trappist character. Fruity, with flashes of banana and pineapple. A touch of tartness enhances the light malt profile. Some perceivable alcohol gives body. Concludes with a dry, slightly bitter finish.
