Anderson Valley Hop Ottin' India Pale Ale

Brewed By:
Anderson Valley Brewing Company
Self-Defined Style:
IPA Hop Ottin' IPA is as hoppy as they come. The name means "hard working hops," in Boontling, and that tells it all. Generous additions of high-alpha Pacific Northwest hops added during a vigorous boil, plus traditional dry hopping, with whole hop cones, give this ale a delicious citrus aroma, and an intense hoppy bite. This IPA is a hop lover's dream.
Best With:
This IPA's generous hop character makes it an ideal pairing with spicy foods such as barbecue, dry-rubbed ribs, or ethnic cuisine such as curry based Indian food, wasabi based Japanese dishes, or spicy Thai entrees. User login

Hop Ottin' Tasting Notes
Appearance: Pours a deep copper-orange with slight opacity and a firm, white head. Strong lacing.
Aroma: Intense hop aroma with considerable floral notes and mild citrus impressions.
Flavor: Begins with citrusy hops and sweet malts, smacking of honey and caramel. Eases its way into a resinous, piney flavor.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with light carbonation. High bitterness to start subsides to a rich, sticky aftertaste. Lip-smacking, if you know what I mean.
Overall Impression: Another solid IPA from the West Coast. Great work.
Comments: I have (had, I drank it) only one bottle of this stuff but I will definitely try to have it again. Thanks, Jun, for giving me these 12 ounces of IPA excitement!
