Deep brick red reminiscent of a vintage Burgundy Wine. Fine crown of froth. Amazing nose featuring a wide range of aromas : spices (cinnamon, wood), fruit spirits and a touch of licoricey, vegetal dryness. On the palate, it needs more time than your average craft beer, first velvety with just enough condition to bring it to live, followed by a slight sharp vinous note and a very subdued bitterness. The finish is strikingly long and port-like.

Best With:
Try it with pan-fried duck breast or foie gras déglacéed with Modena balsamic vinegar… or with a high cocoa contents dark chocolate.

L'Abbaye

Most people would look at me and think, "This girl is only a 23 year old college student. She probably thinks that Bud Light is a good beer." Well, my favorite beer of all time, without a shadow of a doubt, is the Abbaye. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to it at a local bar back in Clearwater. The bartenders know I like beers that tend to be more sour on the palate, and this one took the cake. With the flavor constantly evolving as you drink it, it completely and thoroughly pleases the palate. I feel as though it is a completely balanced beer on the tongue, unlike some other sour beers.

If you haven't tried it, you're missing out. With this beer, there is no in between: You either love it, or hate it. And fortunately for me, I love it!!
