Tokyo is also the strongest beer we have ever made.It is a 18.2% imperial stout brewed with jasmine and cranberries added in the kettle.

After fermentation we dry hop the beer with a combination of North American and New Zealand Hops.Furthermore we then age this beer for 4 weeks on toasted vanilla French oak chips.

Best With:
The roasted and burnt malt notes of stout and its typical hearty nature make it an exceptional compliment to raw or steamed oysters, however stout is also at home with most chocolate or cream based desserts.

Flavor: This is one of the most confusing but good beers I've had. The flavor cycles through probably eight different phases as it goes down. "intergalactic fantastic oak aged stout malt beverage brewed with cranberries and jasmine" should give you a pretty accurate expectation.

Overall Impression: Did I just drink a shot? Is this a beer or a liquor? Mmmm good

BrewDog Tokyo Tasting Notes

Bottle. A hefty brew. Gives a shiny, motor oil pour with a solid off-white head. Nose of roasted malts and some light coffee. Some alcohol hints, too. In the flavor, though, that alcohol is pervasive, almost dominant. A traditional imperial stout character does come through, however, in the form of rich coffee and burnt malts. Heavy in body with modest carbonation, this is a smooth beer, which is not to say highly drinkable. With the high ABVm it also warms like crazy. Potent and pretty darn good.
