Brewed By:
Cantillon
Self-Defined Style:
Lambic "Loerik" is Flemish for 'lazy boy,' a reference to this beer's stubborn refusal to re-ferment in the bottle like other gueuze. No one knows why a batch of blended gueuze just doesn't behave like it normally would, but with time, even bottles of lazy boy begin to re-ferment. Naturally, the brewery never sets out to make Loerik, and it may never happen again, so you should snap up this little bit of history while you can. We have only about thirty cases for the entire country . . .
Best With:
An ideal aperitif, this beer is also great with mussels, shrimp, escargots, smoked salmon, ceviche, goat cheeses, oysters and pate.
