Brewed By:
Dogfish Head
Self-Defined Style:
Witbier with Pinot Noir Juice A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging to successfully marry the refreshing citrusy qualities of a Belgian-style white beer with the robust complexity of a bold red wine.
Best With:
This beer is truly a wonder with steak au poivre, and is equally suited with dessert fare such as spice cake.

Red & White Review
From my blog: http://frommymellin.blogspot.com/2010/07/dogfish-red-white.html
Recently I purchased and tried a bottle of the Dogfish Head Red & White. This is a witbier brewed in the traditional beligian style, then in the Off-centered Dogfish style it is fermented with Pinot Noir juice and aged in oak barrels. The result is an incredibly delicious brew that is refreshing with hints of orange and corrinder and the sweetness of Pinot Noir.
Here are the stats:
Availability: Limited (if you see it get it)
ABV: 10%
IBU: 35
Appearnce: 10 out of 10
Aroma: 13 out of 15
Taste: 39 out of 40
Finish: 34 out of 35
Total: 96 out of 100
Beer pours a very pleasing rose color as a result of the pinot noir aging and is slightly cloudy. Its look is very pleasing and the aroma is smooth and crisp. It has a very unique taste as a result of being brewed with coriander and orange peel then fermented with pinot noir juice aged in oak barrels. It leaves a very pleasant taste on the mouth making you yearn for your next sip. I decided to let it warm up slightly and the sweetness of the pinot noir came out more and the complexity of the beer increased to make this truly enjoyable. If drinking let this warm up slightly from the fridge for a truly enjoyable experience.
Once again I highly recommend you pick this up if you find a bottle.
