Self-Defined Style:
Barley Wine This smooth and fruity barleywine ale is a delicious brew to sip in chilly (or any) weather. Deep and robust, it is brewed using two-row Pale, Dextrin and Crystal malts, combined with flaked barley, to give it a strong malty body. Hopped with Willamette, Styrian, Goldings and Centennial hops, Old Boardhead Barleywine finishes with a pleasant hoppiness.
Best With:
With an invigorating warming quality and a robust alcoholic content, barley wines are the ultimate night cap beers. The round, viscous body of barley wine and its fruity complexity enable it to pair well with fresh vanilla ice cream. Some experts also recommend pairing a rich barley wine with a strong Cuban cigar.
