"L'Urchon, the beer of the marshes of the hedgehogs"
In the French speaking south of Belgium, in the town of Irchonwelz, there sits a medieval castle, that once upon a time, was surrounded by a thick marsh. Within the thick marsh, little brown hedgehogs made their home. While the thick marsh is now only damp ground, the critters are still there, doing hedgehog things.
Don't ask us what hedgehogs do, exactly; we're not sure. But what we do know is that they inspire a wonderful brew. In the local dialect, a hedgehog is an "urchon", and the Urchon Belgian Brown, brewed with a sense of playfulness and four different malts, honors the little guys.
Coincidentally, residents of the town of Irchonwelz are also known as "Urchons", again inspired by the hedgehog. So raise a glass of Urchon to all the urchons that made this beer possible.
