Brown Ale Best Standard Dark Ale in the 2008 World Beer Awards. A traditional full malty 'Brown Ale' with a creamy head. Mild hop notes with a lingering biscuity sweet palate give coffee and liquorice notes. A bitter sweet finish.
Best With:
Brown ales typically have a mild hop presence and a subtly sweet, complex malt character that meshes beautifully with honey and tomato based barbecue sauce on all manner of grilled meats. Brown ale also shines with French onion soup, and could even work with a mild cigar.
