Brewed By:
Harviestoun
Self-Defined Style:
Old Ale aged in Whiskey Casks
Specifications
Strength (ABV):
8.5% ABV

Near black in color with a light syrupy texture. The strength of the 2005 version will be increased to 8.5% alc/vol. This will allow the roasty/ chocolatey/coffeeish/malty-sweet flavors of Harviestoun Old Engine Oil to even stronger mingle with the tannins and whiskey/raisin flavors of Dalmore/Invergordon single malt scotch whiskey barrels.

Best With:
The whiskey aged Special Reserve might best be drank as a desert beer or even as a night cap. It would pair well with rich, gamy meats, or chocolate truffles or a chocolate mud cake.
