Hinterland Bourbon Barrel Strong Ale: White Out

Brewed By:
Hinterland
Self-Defined Style:
Bourbon Barrel Aged Scottish Ale White Out pours a dark chestnut brown. The khaki head leaves a small soapy lace ring which remains around the top of the beer. Aged nine months in ancient oak barrels, the spectacular aroma of buttery caramel malt and bourbon hit you first, followed by a subtle citrus fruit. Smooth bourbon oak and vanilla blend well with the sweet caramel malts. White Out goes down smooth with a slow, lingering bitterness.
Best With:
The robust maltiness of Scottish ales really brings out the flavor of game birds such as pheasant or quail, and works exceptionally well with lamb and roast pork.
