Self-Defined Style:
Lambic A version of Belgium’s “wild-fermented” wheat beer, which is the result of blending Lambic of “one summer” with old Lambic and chaptalized with candy sugar.
Faro is an intriguing balance of wineyness and sweetness. Fruit and caramel aroma, balanced by subtle complexity and refreshing acidity. The flavor starts sweet, with suggestions of brown sugar or orange marmalade, and finishes with crisp tartness. This was probably the beer being served in Breugel’s paintings of Flemish Village Life.
Faro is a delicious accompaniment of a whole assortment of desserts.
Serve cold at 2-3 degrees Celsius.
Best With:
A wonderful aperitif; also try Faro with Belgian waffles, tempura, grilled goat cheese and pears, or the classic Belgian pairing: Belgian chocolate.
