Amber Ale On a rainy fall day in 2009, my five-year-old daughter Zoe and I were wandering the streets of Bar Harbor and stumbled across the Whale Museum. Zoe loved it. Hopefully we do the same for you. Cheers! Our Happy, Hoppy, Amber-Ale
Best With:
Generally speaking, amber ales are incredibly versatile food beers. Caramalized malts combined with the fruity esters produced during fermentation make amber ales great compliments to grilled meats, particularly beef and pork. User login

Tasting Note - A Wednesday night with Zoe
Zoe is a hoppy (and happy) amber ale. First off; I love the color - it pours a roasty, dark amber color that reminds me more of a brown ale than an amber but that doesn't deter me. This beer is medium-bodied and smells like roasted hops and mildly of coffee. The first sip (and every sip after that, actually) is a pleasure. I like the way the hoppiness tickles the back of my tongue while the aftertaste is full of roasted caramel and dulce de leche. At 7.2% ABV this is a heavy hitter for an amber ale and I'm into it. Ambers are great food beers too and cater to a variety of fare from roasted pork to grilled veggies. I'd drink this all year round - by a fire in the winter or poolside in the summer. I like versatility in my beer and this beer makes me happy - just as it was meant to.
