This is the flagship brand of the Mendocino Brewing Company. Red Tail Ale is an amber ale brewed in a traditional Old World Manner using premium two-row malted barley, hops, our own special proprietary yeast strain and pure water. Red Tail Ale's recipe calls for generous amounts of Pale and Caramel malt balanced by whole Cascade and Cluster hops, this makes it the substantial, full-bodied amber ale that has over the years become THE LEGEND.

Best With:

This ruby hued amber ale would be fantastic with medium weight meals such as glazed hams, cured meats, smoked fish, chicken, turkey and Cornish hen dishes.

Overall Impression: Smooth easy drinking.

Comments: In pouring a cold Red Tail Ale with a strong confidence (like a man), you will notice that the aggressive/ vigerous carbination leads to a highly qualifying head. The foam mound slowly dissipates leaving a flower/ fruity aroma behind. Quite satisfactory to the alfactory system of things. This is quite impressive if you do it like it should be done. And, if you are in to watching bubbles, just hold the glass of ale up to the light after a good pour. These micro~brewed beverages are alive... Of the last , and most important, priorities in qualifying an ale for excellence is taste and feel. In one good mouth full after a couple gulps, Mendocino Red Tail Ale will hit you with every note from bitters to a fruity refreshing sweet well balanced taste. Definately a signature ale. Finally, being at 6.1% ABV, after three beers you should be flying high as a hawk- I am! My lasting impression is highly recommendable. This is a brew for the confident.

Comments:Red Tail Ale is one of the best brand beer I ever have its aroma and flavors are toffee, toasted malts, earthy hops, and lighter notes of iced tea which found very strongest and gives a perfect compliment for drink and dinning experience, it was the best brand beer and nice complexity and balance overall.

My over all experiece was of great sensory satisfaction. The beverage poured well and the ambor color specked with carbination bubbles. The hissing foam radiated an excellent fruity aroma to which transended into a great mouth feel and palet sensation. I am defenately enjoying more. I also under estimated the numerical description...
