Brewed By:
Middle Ages
Self-Defined Style:
Barley Wine An epic barley wine, made in the tradition of British Farmhouse Brewing. Lavished with a velvety blend of six different malts this is a warming beer with a lush mouth feel. The complexities your discriminating palate will detect are ever changing as this barley wine matures. When young, an assertive hop character predominates and with age the beauty of the big malt balance unfolds.
Best With:
Primarily thought of as a digestif, Barley Wines have an affinity to lamb, venison and wild boar. Classic cheeses such as English and Vermont cheddars as well as aged Gruyeres from Switzerland. Caramelized desserts as crème brûlée and crepes as well as a good vanilla ice cream can finish a wonderful evening of food and beer.
