Like a fine port, Old Stock Ale is intended to be laid down. With an original gravity of over 1.100 and a generous hopping rate, Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round-out and mellow with age. It's brewed with classic Maris Otter malt and Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops, all imported from England.

Best With:
Old ales such as this work great with steak, game birds, venison and sausages. Big cheeses like the Roquefort or Stilton would pair nicely.

Great jump from the Norm

Appearance: Didn't pour into a glass. Drank straight from the bottle.

Aroma: Real good grape-y aroma. Like a fine wine.

Flavor: 11.9% ABV but definitely couldn't tell. Not to sweet like I was expecting.

Mouthfeel: Don't know about this category yet. I'm still a newby.

Overall Impression: Was looking to be overwhelmed by alcohol and wine taste. Wasn't at all. Great Brew!

Comments: Can't wait 4 years for my 2011 vintage to age to perfection!
