Well balanced, unique for my style
Appearance: Caramel brown, with a bit of haze to it. Thought it was the glass, but there is a subtle cloudiness in there.
Aroma: Floral, hints of rose. Peppery malt, with just a soft note of coffee perhaps?
Flavor: Good bitterness. Roasty, floral aromas don't really seem to transfer to taste, probably getting lost in the alphas. Abundant caramel rounds out a finish.
Mouth Feel: Good head. stays around with very little agitation. Crisp CO2.
Overall Impression: Great ale. First time I've had this style so I can't compare to another, but I like it. Good blend of a Porter and IPA is how I could best describe it. Reminds me of the Black IPAs that are emerging lately.
