Similar to the Maerzen, the Urbock is distinctive in that it is slightly more robust. Its bolder burnt malt character tends to distract slightly from the intense smokiness, resulting in a more balanced, but stronger beer.
Best With:This smoked brew is awesome with hearty dishes that can be smoked, such as cheese, meat, and even fish. Whether smoked or not, the intense smokiness of this rauchbier will impart a bold smoky quality into any food you pair it with. Try it with Pork chops, fresh bacon, barbeque, asparagus, Mexican, Cajun and Chinese dishes.
