History: The amber lager style originated in Vienna, Austria, where it was first brewed by Anton Dreher shortly after the isolation of lager yeast in about 1840.

Food: The straightforward carmelized malt and hop balance in amber lagers enable them to pair with a wide variety of food items, particularly grilled or braised poultry, sausages, and pizza.
