Amber Ale. Deep golden amber color with a frothy white head. Rich aromas of caramel, roasted grains, and earthy, citrusy hop aromas. A frothy entry leads to a dry-yet-fruity medium body of candied citrus peels, mild spice, flan, and toasted grains. Finishes with a long, nutty, citrus-accented, piney fresh hop fade.

5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible.

The Stone of Destiny, or Lia Fail, was the coronation stone of the Kings of the Scots from 840 AD. Originally located at Scone by Perth, it was taken to England in 1296 by Edward I, against the wishes of the Scots. It was returned to Scotland in 1996 and can now be found in Edinburgh Castle.

Lia Fail, the beer, comes from Inveralmond, Perth’s only brewery. This rich, dark amber brew is generously hopped, and took a gold medal in the Premium Bitter category at the 2003 Scottish Society of Independent Brewers annual awards -- Scotland's most prestigious brewing competition.
