Although described by the brewery as an "American Strong Ale", it is the subtlety of Batch One that stands out. Characterized by its generous body and strong hop aromas, the beer's robust malt profile is masterfully combined with delicate, American aroma hops. The result is a well-balanced beer, rather than the over-hopped and sickeningly sweet beers that often represent this category.

Pale in color it has a warm, estery aroma, a good deal of malty flavors on the palate, and a lot of hoppy dryness in the finish.

Barley wine of great character, matured for at least nine months in French oak barrels which previously contained great Italian red wine.

Copper colored with reddish tints and extraordinarily rich and complex in the nose, it releases aromas of red fruits (cherries, currants) and vanilla, with hints of wild berries, and it is reminiscent of a fine wine.
It has a warm-bodied mouth feel with no carbonation.

"A beer beyond preconceptions and clichés, dedicated to the man of tomorrow.

This noble winter beer is brown in colour with flaming red highlights. Its taste is delicately sweet and liquor-like with a hint of burnt caramel coming from the malt and a prolonged boiling time. It is a very bitter beer with aromas of hops and alcohol, and flavours reminiscent of red fruit brought by the English-type yeast we use to ferment it. The aftertaste is accentuated by the wonderful flavour of hops. Solstice d’Hiver is brewed only once a year, and is then aged for 4 to 5 months before being sold.
