Corruption, Greed and Lust, they’re all represented on the books today. Tomorrow they’ll be stringing Gluttony, Desire and Sloth. Go ahead, tell yourself you’re better than all of them. But you can’t. Hell can be funny like that. Down here it’s all just sin. Everyone here is screwed just like you. They don’t care who you sliced, diced or cheated. No one is escaping this heinous place.

In Belgium, a Grand Cru is traditionally brewed for special celebrations. This holiday season, there’s definitely something to celebrate: a blue moon on New Year’s Eve. To honor this rare event, we’ve brewed a limited-edition Blue Moon Grand Cru in the US. This small-batch, Artfully Crafted brew incorporates subtle hints of orange peel and coriander and delivers a warm, spicy finish. Garnish with an orange slice and celebrate.

Best With:
Generally speaking, Belgian ale is a gastronomic miracle. The delicate spicy and fruity nature of these ales, accentuated by the distinctive Belgian yeast strains, pairs beautifully with lamb, mussels, and semi-soft cheeses such as gouda, havarti, and tilsit.

Belgian-Inspired Belgian Golden Ale
Strength (ABV):
8.2% ABV

Inspired by the Golden Strong Ales of Belgium, but using Vienna malt instead of the traditional Pilsner malt for a slightly maltier and deeper golden color. Hell Gate follows the tradition of being given a devilish name. In this case, that name also references New York’s Hell Gate bridge between Long Island and Manhattan.

Allagash Victoria Ale

Beer Style - Belgian Ale

Allagash
Self-Defined Style:
Belgian Strong Pale Ale
Strength (ABV):
9.0% ABV

To create our unique, Belgian-style Victoria Ale, the brewers drew on references to Bacchus, the Thracian god of wine, in the history and artwork of the Victoria Mansion as inspiration for this new beer. One hundred and fifty pounds of Chardonnay grapes were brought in, crushed on site and added directly to the mash.

Best With:
The vinous characteristics of this beer serve as a nice accent to smoked salmon, as well as Stilton cheese. Mussels are also an excellent accompaniment to this beer.

Golden Doom is a sweet stroll down the primrose path to the gates of inferno. First developed for our "Strong Beer Month" celebration in February of 2004, this Belgian-style golden ale is deceivingly strong, spicy and delicious. We use imported pilsner malt for a crisp finish, Saaz hops for a spicy nose, special Belgian yeast, and then we finish it with grains of paradise for a trip through purgatory to an ending in heaven.

Nebraska Brewing Company Barrel Aged Hop God

Barrel Aged Hop God
Self-Defined Style:
Chardonnay Barrel Aged Strong Belgian-Style Ale
Strength (ABV):
10.1% ABV
Bitterness (IBU):
108 IBU

Contained within this bottle is an artful creation which began with our Hop God Belgian-Style IPA which was then enhanced by a 6 month maturation in French Oak Chardonnay Barrels.

This version of Hop God is a fascinating, big, bold Belgian-style Tripel hopped in very high amounts to concentrate citrus, grapefruit and floral aromatics in the nose.

The addition of Chardonnay barrel aging adds further dimension and oak tannins to an already wonderfully complex Ale.

We know of nothing that compares. Enjoy!

Spicy foods. Pizza, big pastas, rich seafood.
