Saranac Lemon Ginger is a limited edition small batch brew from our "High Peaks" series, a line of beers that are bigger, more complex and flavorful. Brewed as a traditional Belgian-style Saison, we use lemon peel and ginger to create a unique twist, pushing the Saison style to a new level. We start with wheat malt and German Saphir, U.S. Vanguard and Czech Saaz hops. We then ferment with traditional Belgian yeast, which produces a fruity and estery aroma, perfectly complementing the lemon peel and ginger.

Saison/Farmhouse Ale
Strength (ABV):

For centuries Venetians lightened the dark of winter with an elaborate upending of social order. In donning a disguise for Carnevale, for one night a pauper could become a prince, a learned man a fool, a proper lady a passionate lover…and no one would be the wiser. This beer is our tribute to that grand celebration of the unexpected. A Saison-style blonde ale with American hops has 6.5% ABV and is a Saison/Farmhouse Ale.

You might not expect a Saison in winter. But the enemy didn’t expect Washington to cross the icy Delaware, either. Expectations be damned, we say. We’re sneaking up on winter with a boatload of bravado and this Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Dry hopped with whole organic cardamom pods, our Saison has an assertive spiciness. In your face, winter.

Anderson Valley Mowkeef

anderson-valley-mowkeef-saison-ale.jpg
Self-Defined Style:
Saison
Strength (ABV):
5.4% ABV

Anderson Valley is famous for its fertile farm land, and it is these farms and their farmers that inspired Mowkeef Saison, our summer installment of the Bahl Hornin’ series. Historically, Saisons were brewed on farms in Belgium, and were designed to refresh farm hands after a long day’s work. We believe Mowkeef Saison is a nice innovation on this traditional style, and will refresh farm hands and pub goers alike. Mowkeef, which means “hay reaper” in our native Boontling, is a Saison with a traditional malt foundation, featuring a medley of malted grains including barley, rye, and oats.
