Self-Defined Style:
Saison
La Brasserie des Géants began brewing Saison Voisin in 2001, although the recipe dates back to much earlier.
The beer is a revival of a regional style brewed by Brasserie Voisin, a brewery built in 1876 that brewed for over 100 years, but sadly closed in 1989. Géants' Saison Voisin is brewed according to the original 1884 recipe and under the guidance of retired brewer, Léon Voisin. He has proclaimed the new version an accurate reproduction of the original.
Best With:
Generally speaking, Belgian ale is a gastronomic miracle. The delicate spicy and fruity nature of these ales, accentuated by the distinctive Belgian yeast strains, pairs beautifully with lamb, mussels, and semi-soft cheeses such as gouda, havarti, and tilsit.
