This beer is named for the Kingston area’s rich historical heritage, is reflective of traditional tastes. Simply put, it’s a golden, crisp and refreshing beer. Whether it’s out on a Saturday night with the gang, or home with dinner midweek, Old Capital’s exceptional smoothness makes a great choice for every occasion.

Kolsch-Style Ale
With the color of a pilsner and the character of an ale, our blonde settles into the realm of restorative. Endowed with an authentic Kolsch yeast strain for a peck of fruitiness that compliments the blend of noble hops. Lager-like with its delicate dryness, it really is redolent of ales from Koln, Germany.

Bright pale amber color with a high head. Aromas of doughy nut bread and lemon pudding with a supple, satiny dry-yet-fruity medium body and a long, seamless grassy hop finish. Great balance and drinkability.

During this spring, we have developed and brewed our first ale - Oppigårds Golden Ale, an ale brewed of the finest English malt from Norfolk County, malted in Yorkshire by Thomas Fawcett Maltings in Castleford. To balance the sweetness from the malt we have made rich additions of English Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops and the German aroma hop Herzbruck Hallertau.

Oppigårds Golden Ale is a golden, well hopped ale, which is matured in our cold cellar for a couple of weeks before filtration and bottling. It has a rich, malty, flavour with a long lasting hoppy aroma.
