Black IPA
Strength (ABV):
6.6% ABV

Thornbridge has released a black IPA for the Chesterfield CAMRA festival.
The recipe for the brew came from James Kemp, who joined the team a few months ago. Previously crowned the New Zealand Home Brewing Champion in 2008 and winner of a Liberty Award, Kemp used Maris Otter, Black Patent and Chocolate malt along with Nelson Sauvin, Centennial and Sorachi hops.
The beer, called Raven, has bitterness and hop character and plenty of malt flavours to give it complexity.

Yards Cape of Good Hope IPA

Substyle - American-Style India Pale Ale
Brewed By:
Yards Brewing Company
Self-Defined Style:
India Pale Ale
Strength (ABV):
8.1% ABV

Originally brewed to withstand the epic voyages from the shores of England around the African Cape of Good Hope to the Indian Subcontient, the India Pale Ale has always been a beer for the adventurous soul. Thoroughly hopped with Amarillos in both the whirlpool and the fermenter, it was then transferred to our makeshift shipping cask, where it was dry-hopped again with Nugget and Columbus. Set adrift in our brewery without cooling, it was able to age as though it had been put to sea for six months.

Brewing our Rye IPA has given us the opportunity to reflect on 25 years of Harpoon and yet another excuse to have a pint or two of beer together on the brewhouse floor. As all good partnerships require give and take, we went back and forth on the specifics of this unfiltered Rye IPA. In choosing this style, we pooled our individual ideas and preferences to create something that we would both enjoy and, we hope, something that you will enjoy as well.

Cervesera del Montseny +Lupulus Iberian Ale

Product - Cervesera del Montseny +Lupulus Iberian Ale
Brewed By:
Cervesera del Montseny
Self-Defined Style:
India Pale Ale
Strength (ABV):
5.4% ABV

The hop plant: in Latin humulus lupulus. Lovely, aromatic hops are what this aromatic ale is all about.

Just two years ago, Pablo Vijande and friends founded Spain's first commercial craft brewery in the small town of Seva, north of Barcelona at the foot of the Montseny mountains. For years Pablo has been the odd man out in wine-drinking Spain, where no hops or barley for malting are grown. He sold home-brewing materials, ran an instructional brewer's festival, and even worked as a volunteer in an English ale brewery for a spell -- all the time saving up money to start up CCM.

Dieu du Ciel Chaman

Substyle - Imperial Or Double India Pale Ale
Brewed By:
Dieu du Ciel
Self-Defined Style:
Imperial IPA
Strength (ABV):
8.5% ABV

This beer style was created in the late 1990’s by some breweries on the west coast of the United States, and most notably by Rogue. It’s an extreme version of the American IPA. It’s a beer with strong amber hues and dominating hop flavours and tastes. It is however well balanced through the presence of a combination of malts. This beer is usually dry hopped, a tradition that is adhered to by Dieu du Ciel!. The bouquet of the beer consists of floral hops. In the mouth, the bitterness is quite strong, without being extreme, and the alcohol makes its presence known, without being domineering.
