Description
Moa Pale Ale is a New Zealand take on a popular North American beer style. Using famous Cascade and Nelson Sauvin hops, the dominant features in this beer are unique to New Zealand and the Moa bottle conditioned brewing method. Its hoppy strength displays powerful floral, citrus and tropical notes, and like its northern cousins is a beer best enjoyed just below room temperature.

100 % of the hops in 2011 Hopivore were sourced through the Michigan Hop Alliance. Hopivore features Cascade and Brewer’s Gold hops from the Leelanau Peninsula. The hot and dry weather this year helped create productive and flavorful alpha and beta acids in these maturing vines, which are in their third and fourth season.

Beer has inspired traditions and celebrations across the world. As brewers, there is one festival in particular that has intrigued us because it is devoted to a single beer ingredient: hops. The Dočesná hop festival celebrates the harvest of hops, grown in the area surrounding the Bohemian city of Zatec. The area has a long history as one of the world’s eminent hop growing regions. This is commemorated annually with music, dancing, hop-picking competitions, and beer drinking. An inspiration indeed for brewing a beer!

Despite the “extra” in the name, EPAs are typically a lighter-drinking version of the wildly popular American ales. This “earthy” brew has a medium body with loads of flavor from an unusual mix of hops. Featuring bright tropical melon flavors from the use of Sorachi Ace hops and accented with floral Nelson and Motueka hops from New Zealand, and bright citrus notes from Chinook hops grown here in the USA. This extra pale ale is a perfect summertime drinker for Earth Day, or any day.

Deep copper color with lacy taupe head. Rich creamy dark caramel, dark chocolate, and roasted nut aromas follow through to a rich medium-full body with layers of citrus marmalade and earthy hops on the long finish. Impressive!
