"Plums are a diverse group of species, somewhere between 19 and 40 depending on who you ask. We are only concerned with what we consider the best to brew with Prunus cocomiloa. The Italian plum has beautiful dark skin color and the flesh is perfect for fermentation. We'll add pure plums directly to the fermenter where they will add another fermentable component their residual sugar. The beer will be dry, and have a sweetness derived mainly from the type of malts we use.
Particularly tasty with chocolate desserts, roasted or smoked foods, barbecu, Gruyre cheese.
Saranac Chocolate Orange is a limited edition small batch brew from our "High Peaks" series, a line of beers that are bigger, more complex and flavorful. Brewed as a full-bodied robust Baltic-style porter with five different hops and four different malts, this beer pushes the porter style to a new level. We start with generous amounts of chocolate malt, and then add blood orange peel. In fermentation, the finest hand-selected, purest cacao nibs are added to enhance the chocolate malt flavor.
Imperial Porter brewed with coffee and cacao beans
With a silken mouth feel despite a hefty 10% ABV, 3Beans is the result of myth, tradition and innovation. The three beans are Romano beans (used by ancient brewers; included in the mash as their proteins provide extra body), Cacao beans from Mast Brothers Chocolate and Coffee beans from Stumptown Coffee Company.
Mikkeller Porter pour is a deep dark brown porter with a thin tan head. The aroma is a rich roasted malt, Carmel, faint molasses, and a touch of coffee. The flavor of this imperial/strong porter is full and includes light roasted malts, faint hops, and a touch of sweet coffee.
A delicious vanilla porter inspired by the melting pot that is America. Loosely based on an English porter but spiced up with whole vanilla beans from Mexico and Madagascar, it’s a deep, rich brown with a mocha head and plenty of luscious vanilla notes in the nose. The flavors are sweet chocolates, spices and smooth cream with just a hint of hoppy bitterness and enough kick to know this is no ordinary porter.
Using pumpkins grown just a half mile from the brewery, Gourdgeous also features traditional pumpkin pie spices and molasses. Rich with notes of dark chocolate, pumpkin pie, and sweet caramel, it's the perfect pour for when the days get shorter.
Roasted turkey with stuffing, pumpkin pie, sugar cookies
Rich and decadent. This strong porter is perfect for sipping at the end of the day or to accompany full-flavored foods. The intense, roasty flavor comes from two types of chocolate malt and raw cocoa nibs. Whole vanilla beans introduced post fermentation add complexity and enhance the dessert-like qualities of this full bodied beer. Indulge yourself!
