SprocketBier is the winner of the first ever Stone Spotlight Series intra-company brewing competition, SPRÖCKETBIER. An easy-drinking, silky smooth reinvention of an Old World style with a crisp yet flavorfully lasting finish, it had the goods to make good on its bid for brewing supremacy.
Bitter hops : Magnum
Flavor hops: Hallertauer Hersbrucker (in the whirlpool)
Malt bill: 2-Row Pale Malt, Flaked Rye, Light Munich Malt, Carafa III.
Appearance: Pours black with a rich tan head.
Aroma: Coffee, fruity esters from the Kölsch yeast strain, spice and hints of smoke.
Hidden in the cold ground in the dark of winter, lie little seeds of hope. So, to help hasten the spring thaw, we give you an ale bursting with the spicy goodness of malted rye and floral, citrusy hops. An in-between-seasons seasonal, if you will.

This beautifully complex, boldly hopped, amber-colored IPA uses rye malt to give the beer a subtle spiciness. It’s bittered with Bravo and Nugget hops before heading to the hop back packed with whole flower Chinook. Finally, we bomb it with Centennial, Citra, Simcoe, and Columbus, creating a pungent ale with intense notes of citrus and pine.

Bonfire Rye is a seasonal brew from Sebago. The malts complement the generous amount of late-addition of American hops. This creates a perfect balance between the earthiness of the rye and the resinous hoppy aroma.
Saison Rye is a golden hued beer, brewed with a 2-row blend and malted rye. It was hopped with with both Styrian Gold and Bravo hops. Fermented with a French farmhouse yeast strain, this beer exhibits traditional saison notes of spice and tropical fruit in the aroma. Citrus and peppery spice dominate the flavor and make way for pleasant malt characters. Saison Rye is full bodied with a surprisingly dry finish. 7.9% ABV
Our 2013 hop harvest special release, fRYEd Fresh-Hopped Rye Pale Ale, will be fresh-hopped* with Chinooks from the Still Wind Hop Farm on Colorado’s Western Slope imparting tropical fruit notes to its flavor and aroma. Generous amounts of toasted rye add complexity with a spicy, nutty flavor.
The Ryehopper began as a fall seasonal and has now found it’s way into our regular line-up. The brewers noticed a lack of rye beers in the Asheville area and wanted to fill that gap. This beer represents assistant brewer Chris Richards’ first recipe released by the brewery. The malted rye contributes both a rounded maltines and a sharp earthy flavor, bridging the maltiness of the barley and the bitterness of the hops. In essence, the Ryehopper is a hoppy rye beer. Seriously, what else did you expect?
Bigger, bolder, and hoppier is what you get in Green Flash's Imperial Red Rye IPA...how unusual! This is quite possibly the most amount of flavor that can be packed into a glass of red ale. Columbus hops set the stage for the newly available Mosaic hops (released in 2013) to shine through the rich crystal malt base and a touch of rye malt adds a spicy dryness to accentuate the hop character further.
This hazy golden brew appears to be a classic witbier with its bright notes of orange citrus & coriander, but there’s a bit more mischief up its sleeve. Behind its sweet exterior lies an intriguing blend of white sage and rye for an earthy, spicy, and thoroughly refreshing brew
