To celebrate the tenth anniversary (X) of Old Rasputin in 2006, we brewed a special batch of our much-loved Russian Imperial Stout, which we aged in Bourbon barrels for a year and in 2007 released in 500 ml bottles with cork and wire finish and a special commemorative label. Over the next two years XI and XII followed, and now, after a two year wait, we are proud to introduce Barrel Aged Old Rasputin XIV. The depth, intensity, and complexity of the flavor profile of this special release, like its predecessors, make it a worthy tribute to Old Rasputin.

Night Tripper is an Imperial Stout for a Fat Tuesday release. Dark, mysterious and poetic, Night Tripper’s abundance of roasted malts, combined with flaked barley create a rich, roasty beer with deeply intense and lush flavors. Night Tripper’s layered, nuanced tones invite intrigue and reward a curious palate. Beads and masks aren’t required, but are encouraged.

Berkshire County homebrewer Bert Holdredge won the ‘Brewers Choice’ prize in the 2011 New York City Homebrew Competition (Homebrew Alley 5) with the basis of this recipe (the prize was for a commercial batch to be brewed on our system) – but was disqualified from the official BJCP competition because he’d forgotten to remove a label from the bottle entry. A dangerously drinkable pitch-black stout with rich chocolate and peat smoke notes, and just a hint of alcohol warmth. Thus far, only 8 barrels have been brewed.

Best With:
Bacon dishes, forest fruits, blue or other funky cheeses, dulce de leche, creme brulee.

Saint Arnold Imperial Stout

Brand - Saint Arnold
Self-Defined Style:
Imperial Stout
Strength (ABV):
5.6% ABV

This is an imperial stout (read: big, strong) that we put in a bourbon barrel last September. We then stuck it in the back of the cold box and made casks from the barrels a week ago (for St. Patrick’s Day). We made a few extra this year so we could let more people in on the wonderful elixir. This is a very expensive beer to make so expect to pay a little more for it, but it is well worth it. Don’t have too many at a sitting though!

Stone Brewing Co.
Self-Defined Style:
Belgian Imperial Stout
Strength (ABV):
10.5% ABV

Stone Imperial Russian Stout is so thick, rich and well, sinful you might feel certain that you are to be doomed to the fiery pits just for thinking about taking a sip. It almost seems evil. Rest assured, however, that our ever faithful gargoyle has done his job well by successfully warding off all evil spirits. In fact, we guarantee that no sin was committed in the production of this seemingly pernicious brew. We will admit that we used copious does of decadence in creating the viscous beauty you have before you, but no actual sin… You’ll have to add that on your own.

Best With:
The roasted and burnt malt notes of stout and its typical hearty nature make it an exceptional compliment to raw or steamed oysters, however stout is also at home with most chocolate or cream based desserts.

Evil Twin Yin

Product - Evil Twin Yin
Brewed By:
Evil Twin
Self-Defined Style:
Imperial Taiji Stout
Strength (ABV):
10.0% ABV

This is one half of a Black & Tan. Not just any Black & Tan, but one where a toasted smug and hoppy fella get together to make a sublime Taiji balance. Mix the Yin & Yang together (or employ this profoundly evil Imperial Stout solo)

Best With:
The roasted and burnt malt notes of stout and its typical hearty nature make it an exceptional compliment to raw or steamed oysters, however stout is also at home with most chocolate or cream based desserts.

Evil Twin Soft DK

Product - Evil Twin Soft DK
Brewed By:
Evil Twin
Self-Defined Style:
Imperial Stout
Strength (ABV):
10.4% ABV

This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout you’ll like this one. If you don’t, get yourself something else instead.

Best With:
With a bold emphasis on hop bitterness, India pale ales are the ultimate beverage pairing for spicy dishes. The sharp hop presence in most India pale ales can stand up to even the most devilish of spices in Cajun, Malaysian, Japanese, Indian, and Mexican cuisine.

A wicked combination of chocolate, roasted and black patent malts. But, what about hops, you ask? This evil brew’s 75 IBUs balance its huge malt base and pack a punch of their own.
