Self-Defined Style:
Oktoberfest
Strength (ABV):
5.2% ABV

Originally brewed as a 1997 Oktoberfest, the Kalasöl was so popular that Nils Oscar decided to continue to brew it every year. A slightly dark Oktoberfest, the beer could also be classified as a Vienna-style or Festbier. It is a well-rounded beer with a mildly roasty, bready, character.

The Nils Oscar Kalasöl is produced with Münchenermalt, Dark Caramel malt, Chocolate malt, and some roasted barley. British Fuggles, American Cascade, and Czech Saaz hops are used. It complements heavy foods such as roast game, spicy stews, or caramelized, grilled poultry.

Oktoberfest pours with a deep golden color. This lager's head is thick and foamy which leaves a thick web of lace. The sweet caramel and brown sugar aroma balances well with a hint of grain. Very malty and lightly hopped, the flavor of rich caramel makes this Oktoberfest extremely drinkable.

Sierra Nevada Vienna Lager

Substyle - Vienna-Style Lager
Brewed By:
Sierra Nevada

Vienna Lager
Strength (ABV):

Our take on the classic European amber lager. It has bright reddish highlights and a pronounced bready malt aroma reminiscent of its Austrian counterparts. The flavor plays slightly toward caramel and toasted lager malt but remains balanced and drinkable with a clean finish perfect for a summer session.

Best With:
The straightforward carmelized malt and hop balance in amber lagers enable them to pair with a wide variety of food items, particularly grilled or braised poultry, sausages, and pizza.

If malt and hops are the two poles of brewing, this beer is the gently spinning sweet spot between them. First, you’ll notice the spicy aromas of Vanguard and Liberty hops. Then - wipe the foam off the tip of your nose - dive into the toasty flavor of Vienna malt. Dynamo starts strong and finishes crisp and smooth. The balanced flavors, aromas, and even the coppery-red tones of this beer go great with everything. Fear no pairing. The best time to enjoy Dynamo is when you’re thirsty.
