Quality by Tradition

One of Europe's most modern breweries is based in Kreuztal-Krombach: The Krombacher Brewery Bernhard Schadeberg GmbH & Co. KG. It is thanks to its distinct flavour and high quality that the company's flagship brand, Krombacher Pils, has evolved to become the outstanding ambassador of its place of origin - both on the German domestic market and far beyond the national boundaries. This is supported by an on-going, determined brand strategy that has made Krombacher Pils Germany's best-selling beer brand.

It all started with John H. Fehlberg, Augustus F. Borchandt, Herman G. Possner, George M. Gerhard, Constand A. Moeller, and Jacob Wirth. In 1888, these local businessmen—”The Original Six”—came together to form the Narragansett Brewing Company. With $150,000 in capital and funds from Butterine (Fehlberg’s predecessor to margarine), a brick brewing house was built. In December of 1890, the first beer was produced, and the following year the company officially incorporated.

White Birch

Brand - White Birch
Brewery:
White Birch Brewing

Welcome to White Birch Brewing, NH’s first nano-brewery. We started making beer in June of 2009 in 15 or 20 gallon batches. The advent of our first calendar year saw us go from about a barrel a day brewing to about two barrels a batch. Thanks to the continued interest in our beers we have pushed harder and on some batches reached three barrels. Since December of 2010 we have been operating at seven barrels a batch. True to our roots, it’s still all done by hand in our modest brewery here in Hooksett, NH.

Maine Beer

Brand - Maine Beer
Brewery:
Maine Beer Company

Maine Beer Company is a very small micro brewery located in Portland, Maine. We don’t concentrate on any particular style of beer. We don’t do just big beers or small beers or light beers or dark beers.

Our production is limited and our process is slow (our beers are 100% bottle conditioned) but our dedication to brewing really good beer and doing what’s right always comes first.

We let our brew speak for itself. Cheers!

Slaapmutske

Product - Slaapmutske
Brewery:
Brouwerij Slaapmutske

Slaapmutske literally means ‘Sleeping Cap,’ (and, as an extension, 'nightcap') in Flemish. The name came about a few years ago when brewer Dany de Smet and his lovely wife, Marleen, were trying to soothe their crying baby, Jonas. When all else failed, Dany hit on the idea of giving the lad a short lick of a finger dipped into a glass of one of Dany's beers. And with that, young Jonas was out like a light. Marleen declared the beer to be a real 'slaapmutske,' and thus, a brewery was born.
